1 Peter 3

What jumped out at me?

Verse 15-16 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

Why it Jumped Out

The other Scriptures remind me that I have not arrived and have much internal work to do. I chose v15 because I remember when I was losing hope and fighting to live in sin. Therefore, I deeply appreciate the hope Christ has placed in me and feel compelled, prompted and drawn to share the Power that comes through Jesus Christ with the World. Even with zeal, I still have much internal work to do. Verse 16 instructs to minister with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience.

How this changes my life

  • I am going to try to be quicker to listen, slower to speak while applying gentleness, respect, and patience. This is good ministerial work for me and will open more doors for God to be revealed, I believe.

Prayer

  • Lord, Thank you for Your Love, Christ and hope. Thank you for defeating the devil. I am glad you rescue and have given us a true reason to have hope. You are our living hope. So, continue to use me to share your Word freely, in your time, in your places, to your people, with gentleness, patience, understanding for your glory. May your Will be done in my life,

In Jesus Name, Amen.
