What jumped out at me?
Verse 11-12: 4 But you, O man of God, must habitually flee these things: and you must steadily pursue righteousness, Godly faith, and patient gentle love. You must constantly fight the good fight of faith, you must immediately take hold of eternal life, into which you have been called, and make the good confession before many witnesses.
Why it Jumped Outit starts with “But you”, which separates me as a child of God from the potential of loving and serving money. Additionally, I love the reminder that I am a man of God, whom God planned and rescued, and leads into righteousness. I am reminded of my purpose, which is to live according to and serve the Master. In order to do so, I am instructed to focus on righteousness and intentionally embrace Godliness. I am reminded of the importance of doing so. I find that valuable.
How this changes my life
- I am in this world, not of it. This pericope stimulates me to be “On Guard”, and be certain to pick up my Cross, be filled with the Holy Spirit, pray with and for all, and witness to many. I didn’t invent any of these processes, but am called to exercise them all through the working of the Holy Spirit.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
