Matthew 11

What jumped out at me?

Verse 6 “ Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.””

Today, I am appreciating Jesus’ posture to include vs exclude. There are too many times when man finds reason to disqualify, compare, calculate others’ righteousness, commitment and relationship with God. Often man spend time attempting to please other men and convince themselves that they are righteous. Jesus made it simple. Believe in Me are the works that He asked us to do. Jesus is far more inclusive for the Kingdom than we could ever be.

Why it Jumped Out

I recently met a seemingly broken and humble man whom in his introductory statement included, “I am a man of God too”. He stated this as humbly as possible. Though he knew of, he was struggling to realize the peace, power and other blessings that God has for Him. He was very aware of God but was admittedly struggling with sin. His desire was to be pleasing to God. His faith was actually beautiful because he hated sin and wanted to rid himself of it.

How this changes my life

  • Believing and simply being can be pleasing to God, versus doing. Jesus met me with open arms while I was in sin. I must remember that His arms are totally wide open for people of this world to run into Him. I never want to go against His will or grain but encourage people to enter into the narrow road.

Prayer

  • Lord, thank you for including anyone that confesses with the mouth and believes in the heart that Jesus is Lord, especially me. None are righteous, none are worthy, none are good, without you. Thank you for calling us the Righteousness in Christ Jesus.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
