1 John 4
What Jumped out at Me?
3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.
Why?
There are many voices in the world today. Most claim to have the truth. While many have partial truth, I believe many expressive efforts are based on lies, false beliefs, the love of sin, fear and manipulation. To me, this confirms the precious value of Salvation in Christ and the importance of being persuaded, hidden in Christ, under His Blood.
How it changes my life
What I see prompts me to be steadfast, quickened in my spirit and gracefully on-guard focusing on God, His Word with my ears and eyes open. I need to keep God’s Word at the fore-front of my mind and life. Without the Word of God and the direction of the Holy Spirit, it is easier to find one’s self lost to sin because of the false influences our society offers. Therefore the primary voice I obey is the voice of the Lord.
Prayer
Father, thank you for awakening your children. Thank you for the ability to discern good from evil and for wisdom and the desire to choose good. Help me Lord to hear your voice, be steadfast, and un-moveable, always abounding in you. Help me to lead those who come under the umbrella you have given me, into you righteousness. Order our footsteps with thy Word. Be please and may Your Will be done in our Lives.
